New Eco Design Advisor for Nelson City.

25 February 2009

A free, independent, eco design advisor service is now on offer for Nelson City Council residents.

Richard Popenhagen, the Nelson eco design advisor, has over 30 years experience in the building industry.  Richard is available for free consultations with new and existing home owners.

Home owners can ask questions over the phone or by e-mail, or book a face to face consultation of up to 2 hours per project.  The topics covered include energy, water, waste, sustainable materials and building-related health issues. Richard is also working with designers and building companies to provide them with information on sustainable best practice and its benefits.

The Eco Design Advisor service has been running around the country since 2007. The service is  funded by the Ministry for the Environment, the Building Research Levy, the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority and the council at which the eco adviser is based.

Nelson residents interested in a free consultation with their Eco Design Advisor can either call Richard on 03 546 0251 or send him an email at richard.popenhagen@ncc.govt.nz.  For more information on the national programme and to find out if your local council has an eco design advisor, checkout the Eco Design Advisor website.
