24 March 2009
This Saturday, 28 March 2009 at 8:30pm we are all invited to join almost one billion other people from around the world, and participate in WWF Earth Hour, by turning out our lights for one hour.
Earth Hour unites communities to act for the environment, shows our support for action that tackles climate change, and inspires us to take further actions in our everyday lives. Over 800 cities worldwide have committed to Earth Hour and in the last three weeks 300 new cities have signed up. In New Zealand there are now 42 cities, towns and districts who have signed up. New Plymouth is the most recent city to join in.
The message from Earth Hour is that if we all take small steps together we can make a real difference!
There’s still time to register by going to the Earth Hour website and there’s the chance to enter the draw to win a Toyota Prius. Once registered, you'll receive useful tools and tips to help you get even more involved
