Get involved in Conservation week

11 September 2009

Conservation Week 2009 is from 13 - 20 September.

Conservation week is about celebrating and experiencing New Zealand’s unique wildlife, natural areas and historic places. It is a great opportunity to participate in conservation events at home, at school and in your community.

Activities and events are happening around New Zealand including: beach clean-ups; tree plantings; tips for greening your garden and getting rid of unwanted pests; conservation walks and film screenings.

The Department of Conservation and TVNZ 6 are encouraging New Zealanders to get involved. Check out the Department of Conservation's website to find out what's happening in your local area and how you can take part.
