If you’ve got a great environmental idea that’s waiting to burst forth, then the Ministry for the Environment’s Sustainable Management Fund could be for you! The 2009/10 funding round is now open to applicants, so the Ministry is keen to hear about your ideas for community projects.
The Ministry is looking to fund practical, community driven projects in these areas: encouraging sustainable households, sustainable land and water management, supporting sustainable business practices and meeting the challenges of climate change.
Applications are welcome from a variety of community groups, businesses or local government. Previous projects the Ministry has funded through the Sustainable Management Fund include eDay 2008, the Home Energy Advice Centre and the Eco-Design Advisor service.
You can apply for a minimum of $10,000 and up to a maximum of $200,000 per financial year, and there is no limit to the number of applications you can submit.
For more information and an application guide, check out the Sustainable Management Fund website. If you would like to find out more about the fund, call 04 439 7400 or email funds@mfe.govt.nz.
