Free bus rides for the Manawatu

8 July 2008

Been meaning to visit Aunty Irene in Fielding, but worried about finding the money for fuel? Your problem is solved as central-North Islanders in the Manawatu-Wanganui region are able to ride for free on the Horizon Regional Council’s buses this week.

The council is providing free transport from the 7th to the 13th July on services in Palmerston North, Wanganui, Levin, Feilding, Ashhurst, as well as the commuter services from Levin and Marton to Palmerston North. The council is offering this opportunity to encourage people to try out the buses and explore alternative transport options, as well as to raise environmental awareness.

To view the routes and bus times, check out their website. Now go call Aunty Irene so she can put the scones in the oven!
