Spring Cleaning Tip

If anyone out there is thinking about spring cleaning / decluttering get yourself registered on the local free cycle group in your area www.freecycle.org. I'm a member and just got rid of a flued gas heater from our place that was about to go into the tip. All stuff offered must be for free (no trading allowed). You can also post notices for items you need.

That's an excellent spring cleaning tip, mady. and you get a wonderful sense of satisfaction knowing that your stuff will be appreciated by someone else who really needs it.

My spring cleaning tip:
Use those cleaning cloths that don't need any chemicals to make them work. You can get them from the supermarket (there are a few different brand names I think). Something about the weave of the cloth means they work with just water.

I can really vouch for the glass cleaner one - I use it to clean the bathroom mirror and taps and they're shinier than ever! I got so excited the first time I used it that I have to admit I went on to polish the door handles. Yes I know it makes me sound like an obsessive clean-freak, but it was fun!

I've recently started using the floor dusting thing - like a cross between a broom and a duster. It uses static electricity to attract dust to the cloth so you don't end up tossing clouds of dust into the air.

I've had less success with the kitchen cleaning mitt. I might have to revise my cleaning technique to get the most out of it.

*Stops talking about obsessive cleaning*
*Slinks away to polish the candle-holders*

Thanks mady, I'm a big fan of freecycle as well. It'sb always interesting to see the kinds of things people will give away.

Sounds like you've got a handle on the cleaning Lindis. Feel free to pop down to Welly and have a go at my flat whenever you like!
