I chose to post this one first out of the millions I have in my 'favourites' because (in my opinion) sustainability is about a lot more than ecology. It should include products that are fairly traded, and the production of which does not involve exploitation of humans or the natural environment.
Here's some free software to help you save paper when you're printing: https://printgreener.com/index.html
I haven't tried it myself because I don't have a printer currently but it's a great idea.

Check out artist Chris Jordan's site http://www.chrisjordan.com/, especially the Running The Numbers section. It's sad to see how wasteful we can be.

This site is great, it is all about saving money but lots of cross over with saving the planet. The calendar is really good with things like "No Landfill Month" and "No Impulse Buys Month" http://www.simplesavings.co.nz.
This website has been setup as a FREE community initiative to assist locals with buying, trading and selling locally produced food or 'stuff'.
The idea is simple.
You can find people within the community who can offer things that you require. It could be the place where you trade your surplus backyard organic fruit and veggies, or sell your fantastic homemade bottled jams. Or perhaps you produce arts and crafts..... As long as it's made locally, you can list it on our directory for Free
It's all about buying local, meeting people within your own community and having some fun doing so.
And it's 100% Free to Use !
Enjoy :-)

And here's another one. A friend of mine has been running a super cool eco-friendly travel website called >
Why not plant trees to make more oxygen? As well as growing wood, a safe environmentally friendly material. Finance the equivalent of your carbon footprint into trees:
Here's the Planeta.com website, which debuting in 1994 is the web's first portal focusing on environmental conservation, responsible travel and ecotourism http://www.planeta.com
We have been focusing on NZ since I was invited to give a keynote address at the 2007 Ecotourism NZ Conference. That said, I'd say our NZ coverage is still a work in progress and feedback is encouraged. Keep an eye on the official guide http://www.planeta.com/newzealand.html
I may as well promote http://stepit.org which is a new carbon reducing and health promotion initiative. The global initiative encourages people to think twice before using cars and elevators for short trips. The initiative web site web site - http://stepit.org - was launched no World Environment Day 2008. Please support the initiative if you feel that it has merit.
Its a network of young professionals interested in sustainability. Great place to find out whats going on in Wellington, chat to others and attend various events.

Our organsisation is aiming for a TRULY clean, green, 100%pure New Zealand by encouraging the cessation of government-approved aerial 1080 poison drops over our beautiful country. Right now, many rural residents are experiencing (or awaiting with dread) the blanket applications of tonnes of poison pellets over thousands of hectares of bush & farmland - this poison raining down upon NZ is killing wildlife, pets & stock and poisoning our land & water.
This is NOT sustainability - this is a crime against nature &, eventually, the human race.
We're saying it has to stop!

I've seen this site which has some useful energy saving, information about energy saving grants, petrol saving ideas & helps save you money too. Not seen anything like this before in New Zealand
The Freecycle Network is a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's about keeping valuable resources out of landfill. There are heaps of local Freecycle groups in NZ. If your town isn't there you can start your own group.
