Goodbye everyone!

This is the last blog I’ll write for www.sustainability.govt.nz, which leaves me a bit sad. I’ve really enjoyed sharing my thoughts and chatting with you guys on the forums. I’ve met some pretty cool people and have learned a lot.

I think the thing I’ve liked most about my time here is feeling that I’ve been part of something important. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I truly believe that we have a moral obligation to live as sustainably as we can. I really like the fact that by helping out with this website, I’ve learned more about my options and I’ve been able to help other people learn too. I’ve also managed to convert a few of my friends and family to more sustainable thinking, which is always a bonus.

Some of the highlights of working here have been:

  • chatting to Neville and finally getting to meet him and check out his velomobile
  • going to the In Tune with Nature concert and getting to talk to people about our website
  • organising the ‘What’s your sustainability?’ film competition – was great to see people’s entries and reward people for their hard work.
  • Thank you to everyone who has written in and shared their stories, ideas and feedback. I think part of what makes this site so great is the interaction we have – keep up the awesome work guys. You’ll probably see me pop onto the forums from time to time – I have to let you know how my bike riding is progressing (still poorly at this stage)!

Aaawwww Sarah we'll miss you! Please make sure you pop in sometimes and let us know what you're up to. And remember, sustainability isn't a job, it's a way of life!
